Cold Milk vs. Hot Milk: Which has More Calories?

Calories in Milk - Know Which Milk has more Calories

Today, people want to consume the perfect nutrition every day. Many people count calories they consume every day. Whether milk should be consumed hot or cold is a big question. Do you know milk with more calories? Does the calorie content really differ?

You should always have control over the calories you consume. This could lead to the perfect health you have always wanted.

Cold milk, here, does not mean raw milk. Consuming raw milk can cause a lot of problems. Raw milk contains pathogens and harmful bacteria. Cold milk is the packaged, pasteurized milk available in tetra packs.

The calorie difference between hot milk and cold milk is negligible and is so small that we can say it does not differ in calories. Heating up unpasteurized milk kills the harmful bacteria present in it. But, with the process of pasteurization, the milk doesn’t need to be boiled anymore. The process includes boiling milk at a high temperature. This kills all the harmful components present in the product, after which it is immediately packed. Heating up this packaged milk again doesn’t cause any calorie change but it does affect the nutrition of the product. Boiling the milk can cause it to lose some nutrients.

You may warm the milk slightly to use it to make hot beverages like hot coffee, cocoa, tea, etc. Cold milk can be mixed with cereals or can be consumed plain.

Drinking warm milk before going to bed helps you to get a good sleep. It has sleep-inducing serotonin and melatonin. A warm glass of milk also keeps the body warm and also soothes the digestion process.

Cold milk relieves acidity. This is why, if you are suffering from acidity, cold milk is the first thing which is recommended. Cold milk also helps to rehydrate the body during summers. Drinking cold milk every day during summers will save you from the problem of dehydration.

So, whether hot or cold, milk needs to be a part of your daily diet. It has more nutrients than you really know. To know these nutrients read our article- Importance of milk in our diet.
