A new trend of consuming chocolate milkshake after the gym or heavy workout is now seen all across. The beverage is said to contain all the nutrients needed to replenish the energy after a workout; also replenishes the proteins and calcium lost on the treadmill. Clint Wattenberg, the coordinator of sports nutrition at Cornell, said: “after numerous experiments, it was observed that low-fat chocolate milk can be used as a recovery beverage”. Regular gymmers also consume almond milk after the workout.

CrossFit trainer and nutritionist, Erica Giovinazzo’s after gym diet consist of a scoop of vanilla protein with almond milk and frozen blueberries, pureed pumpkin with a half teaspoon of cinnamon. Co-founder of Throwback Fitness, Brian Gallagher consumes chocolate milk after a hard workout.
